In this month’s Connection Diary, we talk about “Letters from the Future,” and I thought I’d share my version of such a letter with all of you. It’s written to our Conversant Community, which includes all of our employees, clients, and friends of Conversant. It’s written a year from now, looking back on my first year as Chief Executive Officer.
January 25, 2022
Dear Conversant Community,
January 2021 was a start of year like no other. There was so much uncertainty and fear in the world alongside green shoots of possibility and hope. This is the environment we were in when I took over the role as Chief Executive Officer on our behalf.
We say at Conversant that when one of us makes a commitment, it’s made on behalf of all of us and it’s all of our responsibility to ensure that commitment is fulfilled. So I began the role of CEO knowing it wasn’t just my commitment but all of ours – a commitment to the future and the great work we all love to do alongside our clients, exploring and designing authentic human connections that deliver meaningful, lasting impact.
I am so proud of the work we’ve done throughout the year. We continued to work with clients around the world to help them evolve their leadership, their teams, and their organizations such that they leverage their everyday conversations to achieve results they didn’t think were possible.
We created new forums to learn with both seasoned executives and the next generation of leaders about the leadership the future is calling for. We are defining a new standard for leadership – leadership through authentic connection – that is needed to ensure the world thrives.
We evolved our collective thinking about what’s possible in terms of human connection in virtual environments, ensuring we are smarter together about building authentic connections when we aren’t sitting in the same room.
We tell our clients that for organizations to evolve, the people will have to evolve how they lead. 2021 was a year of evolution for our leadership. We demonstrated to ourselves and our clients that love is a leadership skill and joy does belong at work. Here’s to more love, joy, and meaningful impact in the year ahead.
With loving regard,
Robin Anselmi
